!MILITARY: A sergeant [i.e. corporal, see 2:125] in the American Revolutionary War, in Captain Page's Company, Light Inf., 15th Regt., Mass., Bay Forces, commanded by Colonel Benjamin Typper. He enlisted April 28, 1777, for three years "or the duration of the War." His name is on the company muster roll for the last time April 1, 1779, dated West Point, May 3, 1779. --H.B. Whipple
